Touba, the Mekka for every Senegalese should be visited of
the european visitors to understand the history and culture of
the senegalese and share the impression.
we were on the way ( 10 people in aminibus) early in the morning.
The first stop we followed the ritual with the drivers family, as the
minibus was a new one.the roads in the small villagesdangerous
roots leading to the south.
Whe we arrived in Touba the early afternoon
no alcohol, no smoking, very special instructions for this town.
In the beautiful hall we listened the informations, a fresh breeze,
and as every senegalese I shared the ritual to drink of the holy
water. Did not want to hear the warnings of the others. No problem.
On our way back on the rad again, we felt tired, as it was getting very hot.
Suddenly with a great noise the bus was stopped, shocked we were getting
out and realized the luck we have had, not beeing involved in a bad accident.
nobody hurt, sitting and waiting 3 hours till the senegales
could manage the reparation of the bus. 10 people, under an african tree,
beside the road, nervous, dusty, thirsty, and somehow a crazy group,
somebody brought us some water, as few people had problems with the heat.
At least we were save, may be it was the result of the holy rituals
and prayers?
